Transmog Spotlight: The Prettiest Plate Dress

After literally three months of killing Loatheb in Naxx 10 every single week, Fabulor FINALLY got the Heroes' Redemption shoulders. I've wanted to use a mog based around these shoulders and an awesome set of Mists PVP robes for ages, but stupid Loatheb just would not cooperate!
I love the idea of plate robes. However, I don't like the look of a lot of them. The ICC ones have such random textures, and the Firelands robes are nice, but they seem...bulky? and plain? Fabulor has both the normal and heroic version, but I don't think I've ever used either in a transmog set.

I'm just as picky when it comes to shoulders. For Fabulor, I really dislike the huge, bulky shoulderplates. Almost all of my mogs tend to use smaller, more streamlined models - he's a healer, a caster, not some brute mixing it up in melee. His armor is for style, not for protection.
Thus this mog, based around the interesting looking Naxx shoulders and ultra-detailed PVP robes!

The color scheme is pretty basic, based off the colors of the shoulders/robes - white & black, though there are a few lighter/darker hues mixed in. Gold trim is a consistent secondary color, and red highlights in the belt, robe cords and axe - as well as Fabulor's hair - add some brightness.

There's also a slight silhouette pattern of symmetrical "horns" in the shoulders, Fab's ears, and the horns on the shield. Ideally I'd also find a weapon that has goes along with this, but for now I think the really nice golds and reds on the axe make up for it.

Interestingly, this is one of the only mogs I've ever made that has no cloak! Leisl's scout mog has no cloak because I felt it fit her role of trim, all-business military guerrilla, but for this one I felt a backpiece would just hide the awesome robe detail on the back, as well as obscure a really aesthetically-pleasing silhouette. Wide, angled shoulders tapering in at the waist, then flowing out to the beautifully textured robes. It's so smooth and elegant - perfect for Fabulor. (And no tabard, for similar reasons.)

Very nice explanation of why you chose every item. Lovely look on him as well.
And I think I have an unattuned Outland Shield on my Paladin. What a pity I no longer play on US. >:)

What, you don't like the arbitrary Western bolo tie on ICC pally tier? I can't imagine why not. >_>
