Minipost: Daily quest tips & tricks

With so many daily quests on the go, it only stands to reason that everyone has discovered a few little tricks to make certain dailies go faster. I thought I'd share some of the ones I've stumbled upon.

I'll add more tips as I hear of them!

Tillers
Chasing the Chicken
For this quest, you need to pick up random chickens for Old Hillpaw, until you find his special prize chicken. You'll end up with a few duds before getting the real one, each of which require a special action to get rid of it - douse it in water, punt it away, deposit it in a chicken coop, etc. Well, you actually don't need to do any of that. Just right-click off the chicken "buff" you get - for example, Amorous Rooster - and you're all ready to grab another one!

Also, if you are Best Friends with Old Hillpaw, you can check the the chickens he gave you that are wandering around on your own farm.

Not in Chee-Chee's Backyard and Stalling the Ravage
and Cindergut Peppers and A Gift for Ella
By far, the easiest targets for these kill quests are the Kunzen Rockflingers, who hang in packs, are very weak and can be AoE'd down in a few globals. They also drop Cindergut Peppers and Spicy Shrimp Dumplings, as well as a chance of normal commodity items like Windwool Cloth or Motes of Harmony.

A Gift For Chee Chee and A Gift For Fish
You can get the items for these quests either by finding them lying around the Kunzen huts, or by killing Kunzen Collectors.

A Pumpkin-y Perfume (and all the other daily crop quests from Yoon)
You don't actually need to waste a spot on the random veggie Yoon wants you to plant each day. Just plant the vegetable he asks for, take care of the weeds/vermin/whatever, and then use the Dented Shovel lying against the nearby stump to dig up your newly-planted produce. Quest complete, and now you can plant something you actually want instead of wasting a spot.

Pest Problems
If you prefer, you can AoE down the marmots instead of clicking/jumping on them. Obviously, this will be easier if you have a non-targeted AoE such as Arcane Explosion or Fan of Knives, etc. (credit: CJGibson)

Weed War II
Okay, the quest does say this right in the description, but it's easy to miss! You can do this quest while mounted. Makes it a lot faster.

Golden Lotus
Acts of Cruelty
You don't have to actually fight the Mogu who are torturing the Pandaren NPCs. Just fly nearby and aggro them to free a prisoner, then fly away. Of course, chances are you'll have a daily to kill a bunch of Mogu ANYWAY so I don't know how much time this actually saves, but oh well.

Cannonfire
You can plant the bombs while mounted, making this daily extremely fast. Bonus factor: if you aggro any nearby Mogu/Quillen while planting the bomb, they'll reset next to the cannon when you fly away and then get blown a few yards away by the blast. It doesn't do anything to them, but it's still funny.

Given a Second Chance
If you start using the Shado-Pan Bandage on a wounded NPC and an incoming cannon blast appears, don't be afraid to break the channel and move aside. The NPC will remains partially healed and you can just finish bandaging them safely a second later.

Survival Ring: Blades

Monks and druids can simply hover over the area for 90 seconds...cheaters. For everyone else, you can copy them and stand on one of the posts on the outside of the ring (dismounted), and you can just sit there while the NPCs run back and forth in front of you.

Survival Ring: Flame
Again, monks and druids can just hover above the area. For everyone else, don't overthink it. Just keep moving and stay somewhat near the middle so that even if you do get hit by an explosion, it doesn't knock you out of the ring.

Anglers
Like Bombing Fish In A Barrel
Not that it makes a huge difference, but you don't need to be on the quest raft for this. I find it a bit faster to just fly right out to the Sting Ray area, hop in the water, and commence bomb-chucking.

Armored Carp and Huff & Puff
If you don't want to bother with the fishing spear, you can simply hop in the water and Aoe the carp and puffer fish mobs directly, and AoE loot the quest items. (I like chucking the spear, but to each their own!) (credit: Stop)

Klaxxi
The Matriarch's Maw
Bonus daily, only available if you have the Free From Her Clutches / Sonic Disruption area quests.

Roaming around in front of the Heart of Fear (west of where the Kunchong Hatchling cages are) is a giant blue Kunchong named Karanosh. Kill it, and it will drop Enormous Kunchong Mandibles, which is a hand-in quest back at Klaxxi'vess. Karanosh is soloable (though difficulty might vary depending on class), just move out of the Corrosive Resin pools she creates.

The Warlord's Ashes

Bonus daily, only available if you have the Dreadspinner Extermination / Nope Nope Nope area quests. Requires a partner.

Find this area, near the region where you're gathering tablets/killing spiders. See those two glowing circles on the ground? One person needs to /kneel in the orange circle, and another needs to /lie in the green one. Once this occurs, Warlord Gurthan will appear. Kill him, and he'll drop Ashes of Warlord Gurthan, which starts the quest. (Nothing further to do, just hand it in back at Klaxxi'vess.)

Kypa'rak's Core
Bonus daily, only available if you have the Shackles of Manipulation / Fear Takes Root area quests.

On your way to the southern island where all the dailies are (Zan'vess), stop and search the Briny Muck swampland just north of the island, and find the huge gyreworm named Kypa'rak. Take him out to get Kypa'rak's Core, and turn in back at Klaxxi'vess. Easy bonus daily! (credit: Stop)

Fear Takes Root
You can remain mounted while destroying the Dreadspore Bulbs. Just fly around and pop them in rapid succession. Watch out that you don't get too many of the damage-over-time debuffs though, as they can add up and hurt you pretty badly.

A Little Brain Work and Meltdown
This may seem obvious to anyone who actually read the quest text, but I've seen quite a few players who don't realize you get special items to weaken the quest mobs for these two dailies - Sonic Emitter for A Little Brain Work, and Korven's Experimental Grenades for Meltdown. USE THEM, and save yourself a great deal of hassle.

Shado-Pan
Friends, Not Food!
There's a lot of hatred for this daily, but it's not THAT bad. The annoying part about this one is the Swarming Insects around the pits that will dismount any flying mounts after a few seconds. But really, they're easily dealt with. Yes, they'll dismount you, but just land, remount, find your NPC target and go rescue them (and get dismounted again), then remount and fly away. All you have to do is make little flying hops and you'll be done in no time.

There's also an easier way - the Swarming Insects count as a buff, not a debuff, so you can right-click them away or simply make a macro /cancelaura Swarming Insects to avoid the dismounting effect altogether.

Riding the Storm

Okay, this isn't really a tip, but druids, did you know you can shapeshift while riding the Cloudrunners around? Not just into cat or bear form, but also travel or flight form. It doesn't get you any advantage, but it's pretty funny.

August Celestials
Chasing Hope
Like with Fear Takes Root above, you can do this quest while on a flying mount. So just zoom around and nab the ghosts. Though, I find I can just do the other dailies and the ghosts will usually just randomly run into me anyway, with no actual effort on my part.

Students of Chi-Ji
I'm not sure if I just have really bad luck, or if there's something actually buggy about this quest, but if you defeat a Student of Chi-Ji and they run off, like normal, but you remain in combat? RUN LIKE HELL, because every time this has happened to me, a SWARM of angry students have shown up about 10 seconds later and just obliterated me.

The Torch of Strength
This quest is really difficult, and my best advice is to take your time and observe the wind patterns. That being said, I have heard that you can bypass some parts by walking on the sides, outside the chain handrails. Good luck! This one can be quite frustrating.

Order of the Cloud Serpent
The Trainer's Challenge: Ace Longpaw (and other Trainer's Challenges)
Not so much a tip as just a simple warning for the Trainer's Challenge dailies - don't die. Like, blow cooldowns, heal yourself, take it seriously. Why? Because the graveyard is way, way below on a tiny island, and your corpse will be ridiculously far away (and much higher up). If you DO die, you CAN get back to your corpse, but you have to follow the coastline clockwise and find an eventual slope to ascend and run all the way back to your body. Hopefully this gets fixed soon, because it's really annoying.

Just a Flesh Wound
If you get interrupted while bandaging an Injured Hatchling, don't fret. Just move on to the next hatchling - as long as you've begun bandaging, the Hatchling will get up in a few seconds anyway as if you had bandaged them to full. (credit: Lyon)

Also, apparently you can use plain Windwool Bandages to heal the Hatchlings instead of Heavy Windwool Bandages, though I am hearing reports that this has been fixed.

I like how some of your tips are not necessarily helpful but funny ones. :P

FYI: Deppending on how far along in the Klaxxi rep you are, the Raining Blood debuff makes for very short work of the 4 million HP monsters depending on how fast your GCD is. Obviously it may not be such a good idea if you don't have something to absorb all the damage/agro resulting from the explosion

Here's another Anglers one, for Armored Carp: Don't bother with the fishing spear, just hop in the water and AOE them down (or, heck, just kill them - the Armored Carp have virtually no HP, despite what their name would lead you to believe), then loot the fish from the corpses.

Also, re: Warlord Gurthan and the Matriarch's Maw: if your dailies are on Zan'vess, there's a giant kyparite ringworm named Kypa'rak crawling a huge circle in the Briny Muck area. He counts as the "hidden daily" for that daily area.

If you are best friends with Oldhill Paw you can check the chickens at your farm first and dont even need to fly to his.(as long as you click of the buff that you mentioned of course)

Don't die is SUCH a great tip for "The Trainer's Challenge: Ace Longpaw". I died for the first time doing it yesteday when I got distracted by something shiny. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Adding to your "hover over the area" for the Golden Lotus druid/monk tip...
It no longer works for druids to just fly over the area (at least for the fire one) you'll still get hit and take damage. I admittedly haven't tried hovering over the pillars yet, when next I get the daily I will.

Here's a tip for "Just a Flesh Wound" (Order of the Cloud Serpent): If you get interrupted while channeling a bandage, then just go on to the next hatchling. As long as you've begun bandaging one, they will get up after about eight seconds or so - however much time it normally takes for the full channel.

Also, I haven't tested this yet, but I think the quest allows you to either use any bandage, or just the strongest bandage in your inventory. If you care about saving your bandages, that might be a good thing to look into.

    @Jamie TTGF

You can use plain ol' Windwool Bandages! Works just as well. Save those Heavy Windwools (and the cloth needed for them).

Other tip to make Just a Flesh Wound a little easier: Make a macro!

    #showtooltip
    /target Injured Hatchling
    /cast Windwool Bandage

Clicking this macro once will target a nearby hatchling AND start the bandage cast. You just need to be within the required range (see banadage tooltip). No more trying to click on their tiny, pitiful little bodies!

For the torch-carrying quest at the Temple of the White Tiger (August Celestials), in many parts you can run on the left side, outside the chain handrails and skip many of the tornadoes.

The Warlord's Ashes quest is now soloable, so you don't have to spam passers-by or guildies for assistance.

For the Order of the Cloud Serpent dailies: there is this one quest where you have to bandage the dragon whelps with your own bandages. You only have to start doing that bandage action but dont have to wait to channel it all the way. Just click the mob, click bandage, and move to the next target. youll get the score (need 8 in total iirc), after a few seconds.

Monks can use their Zen Flight ability to easy-mode "The Torch of Strength" quest. You can just fly right to the finish.

If the daily quest hub for August Celestials is at Niuzao Temple, you can grab the Shado-Pan dailies and the follower. The Shado-Pan follower will help you do the August Celestial dailies and make them go a lot quicker.

While freeing pandaren spirits for the golden lotus you can remain mounted and zoom around right clicking. Flying up will reset and despawn the spirits that aggro to you.

When flying along the coast back from the Hozen cave quest for the Cloud Serpents, there is a spot above the Widow's Cave that will dismount you. If you aren't expecting it and don't have some form of safe fall you will plummet to your doom. And then you'll be in a graveyard with no method of flying back to your corpse. I discovered this the hard way. So fly low on your way back from the hozen cave.

"The Warlord's Ashes quest is now soloable, so you don't have to spam passers-by or guildies for assistance."

I'm assuming you mean the mob itself, right? 'Cause you still need another player to summon it in the first place.

Actually, I just found out yesterday that the summoning part is doable alone now - you just have to do the /kneel or /lie part, and Gurthan will appear! I'll fix this in the post.

Is it true for Lore walkers rep that you need Archeology 500...if so any tips in Pandaria to increase skill level?

Nope, Lorewalkers rep unlocks some Archaeology perks, but it's entirely based off finding those little lore scrolls scattered around Pandaria. You can work on their rep and hit Exalted with 0 Archaeology skill!

For the free spirits Golden Lotus quest:
Enter the spirit realm while on flying mount, and click the spirits from the air.
This way you can fly up from ghosts, and never get any aggro
