TTGF got Garrosh down on Wednesday (woo!) and so of course, I went back into the raid the next day and took a slow, leisurely tour around the place to take a look around and see what it was like without dozens of angry Kor'kron guards trying to smash my face in.
Overall, it wasn't too thrilling. All the NPCs in Garrosh's throne room were gone, and you can't go back onto Siegecrafter Blackfuse's platform - the pipes just spit you back out where you jumped in. (If you jump between the pipes you do end up on Blackfuse's platform, but you're dead.)
Interestingly, the big area below Malkorok's platform - where you start fighting those cleaving Skullsplitters and giant metal scorpions and stuff - all those doors open up and instead of the linear path you take up to Malkorok and then down the other side, you can wander in and out freely in those rooms. There ARE still hostile Kor'kron here, but they just spawn and rush at Baine/Vol'jin's troops and are cut down.
Speaking of Malkorok...that beam of light coming down on his platform looks really cool from down below.
Here's what it looks like on the platform itself! That looks like a grate up there - I wonder if that corresponds to a grate visible in Orgrimmar, up top?
I wandered around the Dark Shamans area, but didn't find anything interesting. The barricades and crates seal off the inaccessible areas pretty good, unfortunately.
Outside, however, I was surprised to see these!
I've ridden right past the Darkspear forces dozens of times and I don't think I've ever really noticed how badass these ballistas are.
With Vol'jin in charge, maybe we'll see these show up in a new battleground next expansion? Be a shame if they were only used in Siege, and only then as background / non-interactive art.
Finally, I ended up back at the docks, and decided to take a little swim around and check out the ships in the harbor.
None of them had ramps that I could use to board them, but I did find this...
Alright Lor'themar, Aethas, Rommath, the rest of you Blood Elves.
We know you're all magical and stuff.
But this is just showing off.
