I was idly flying around Pandaria one night when I happened across the Serpent's Spine wall/gate leading into the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Like most of us, I'd done the entry quest where the four August Celestials let you into the Vale, as well as committed all sorts of Mogucide on the other side for the Golden Lotus. But I'd never really stopped to look at the wall itself before.


Hey, that's interesting, check it out - a doorway on the battlements. I wonder what's inside? Some kind of chamber or room or something.

Well this is curious. Just a big-ass door inside? And that symbol looks awfully familiar...

Oh, that's right. That's the symbol of the Scarlet Crusade.


The Crusade uses this symbol on virtually all their trappings, but as we've explored before, the Stormpike dwarves of Alterac Valley also use it on their banners. And now, we find it being used in Pandaria? Atop an ancient wall built by the Mogu thousands of years ago?


Now, it's pretty likely that this is simply a case of recycling artwork. But then again, the only possible association I could think of previously between the Scarlets and the Stormpikes was a mutual belief in the Light. But the Mogu, they don't believe in the Light, so where's the connection there?

Well, we all remember what another word for Light is, right?
