It was my birthday on Saturday, and after capping VP early on both Fabulor and Morgion, I took the day off from WoW and Twitter and enjoyed the day. Yesterday I logged on and quickly realized I had to create a new transmog set for Fabulor (pictured above).
Why, you might ask? Because some amazing friends had left me an amazing birthday present in the mail - one of the shiny new Jewelcrafting mounts, the Sunstone Panther!!
This mount is BEAUTIFUL. And really, REALLY shiny. It was PERFECT for Fabulor! But of course, he needed an appropriate outfit.
My first thought was to turn to the (rather commonly used) Conqueror set. But as it turns out, the Conqueror pieces are a little too light and pinkish-yellow to really match the panther's deep, vibrant gold. Also, the panther has a lot of green shading on the undersides of its paws, tail and belly, so I decided a gold/green scheme would fit best.
A bit of digging around in my transmog bank, a bit of guildmate crafting, throw in the Golden Circlet from the Fall of Theramore, and Fabulor was all set!
Fabulor Goes Gold
Head: Golden Circlet
Shoulders: Strengthened Stockade Pauldrons
Back: Brightcloth Cloak
Chest: Glorious Breastplate
Hands: Ironvine Gloves
Waist: Girdle of Uther
Legs: Sunscale Legplates
Feet: Emerald Sabatons
Shirt: Bright Yellow Shirt
Off-hand: Lei of the Lifegiver
This mog is amazingly bright. When I'm sitting in Halfhill amidst the throng of other players, the intense, blinding yellows shine like a beacon. It's awesome.
However, it's not exactly what I want. I'm okay with the greens being represented in Fabulor's hands/feet, as it sort of mirrors the Sunstone Panther's colors. But I'd like to see how it looks in a gradual yellow-to-green shift going from top-to-bottom, as pictured in this Mogit preview:
The gloves are easily crafted, so no problem there. I didn't have those pants lying around though, so I'll have to watch the Auction House and wait for them to show up.
Finally, that mace is PERFECT - shiny, burnished gold, with some green glow, and even a bit of purplish reflective shine to match the Sunstone Panther's eyes! Unfortunately it drops from the final boss in Karazhan, so it looks like I'll be running that for the next while!
Mog fun aside though, thanks a ton for the great present, Narci, Cynwise, Catulla and Snack! It totally made my day! :D
