Minipost: The amazing technicolor Faceplate
Before Transmogrification hit the live servers, I spent a good deal of time collecting gear and getting a few transmog sets prepared, so I'd be ready to go once it arrived. One of these sets was a red set based around some Icecrown Citadel paladin recolor pieces, the Leggings of Dying Candles (plate dress!) and Faceplate of the Forgotten.
I'd seen paladins wearing this set all through ICC, but now that transmog was coming, I'd finally be able to wear them! And some of that set looks really cool on a death knight, especially the skull helm. So I was pretty excited. I even ground Consortium rep (from Neutral) to Exalted for the tabard, which I felt fit very well.
But then, transmogrification came, and...well, something happened.
Yes, for some reason, the patch turned my helm purple! So my lovingly-collected snazzy red transmog set now had a weird purple helm, and I had no idea why. :(
In retrospect, I'm actually quite glad this happened, as I love the color purple, and I've since used the purple helm in a different, favorite transmog set. But at the time, it was quite annoying!
What makes this REALLY weird is when you throw elves into the mix. Look what happens when I use my Orb of the Sin'dorei and turn myself into a blood elf.
The helm turns red again!
I have NO idea why this happens. But, it's not just blood elves. I also found out when I went into Well of Eternity that the helm turns back red when I become a night elf, too!
Too strange.

Plate dresses! I finally mogged my paladin into one again and it feels so RIGHT.
That helm colour change is a total mystery.

There's a similar "color bug" with the leather "Mask of the Unforgiven"... it's white, except on female dwarves, where it is inexplicably purple.

The universe is telling you to be an elf! :P Can't say I disagree, BE's are such sexy beasts but you know that already right?

That happens to female worgen, too. There are multiple leather helms that are different colors on them when they're in worgen form as opposed to human form.
