Minipost: Death Knight T13 is finally out

(Link to the official preview and Death Knight Visual Retrospective)

It's not...terrible?

It's certainly not amazing. Nothing fun and creative like the Timelord's Regalia, and CERTAINLY not something mind-blowing like next season's Paladin PVP gear.

But it's not BAD, per se. I mean, it doesn't make me want to vomit. The detailing is nice and crisp, and the colors are fine. Also, I always like anime boots, and the helm is interesting, as is the giant skull belt (even if it IS another GIANT BELT).

Death Knight Tier 13: Not awful.

What a glowing testimony, huh?

It's just...very generic Death Knight. It looks like something Razuvious would have been wearing around Acherus back in 2008 when Wrath came out.

Every class has some nice tier sets and then some not-so-nice sets, and thanks to transmogging, this wouldn't really be noteworthy EXCEPT that the DK set was delayed for SO LONG because according to Blizzard, it "wasn't awesome enough yet." And that we should not worry, because it'd be worth the wait.

Well, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed that this is what we were waiting for.

Like I said. It's not terrible, and it's not even a huge deal because I'll just transmog my gear into something else. It's just so average. And to me, average wasn't worth that long, annoying delay.

Oh well. I AM curious what the rejected initial design looked like, though. Too bad we'll probably never see it!

Convinced me to try out transmoging! LoL! I must say out of all of them the warriors got the best look hands down. I wish I hadn't parked my warrior in favor of my DK.

We'll probably see the initial design in the artbook for Mists of Pandaria collector's edition!

I like it fine. I actually think death knights are the only class that's never had a bad tier set.

I think it looks like a warrior set actually. Considering how many warrior tiers have had horns like that (5,8,10...) I really can't see them as death-knighty in an way.
