Anyone who's talked to Vidyala, Draenei Holy Paladin extraordinaire, knows she loves - nay, ADORES - the Draenei race. Her blog is mostly about her Draenei paladin, I think most of her other characters are Draenei...and I bet if they ever became a race option for druids, her Boomkin would quickly trade in her elven ears for space goat hooves.

Well, today Vid transferred her lonely level 70 troll mage Jikali (who'd been stagnating lately) over to Drenden to hang out and quest. I have a few characters at the same level, so we figured it'd be fun to run some instances, do some battlegrounds, or just level with a friend.

When I logged in she was in Orgrimmar, so I warped in to greet her in person. While we were talking, Vid commented that Orgrimmar was under attack! I hadn't seen anything - I must have left LocalDefense way back and never re-joined the channel.

Now personally, if there's a For The Alliance raid going on, I'll sometimes leap into the fray and defend Thrall. If it's just a lone Alliance player I'll sometimes try to find and kill them once, just to make them earn their stay while they fish, go to Ragefire Chasm, or whatever.

It had been a while since I had killed any Alliance players daring to enter MY city, so I immediately set off to find this miscreant. Vid decided to come along too. I quickly found him hiding in the Drag, and what then ensued was something of great personal distress to Vid...and hilarious enjoyment for me. (chat cut/spliced together for clarity)


Bags not even unpacked from the move, and already an honorable kill!

And not just any kill, but a Draenei.

A Draenei PALADIN.

Sure, I *may* have been the one to actually fight the paladin and kill him while Vid watched, paralyzed with inner turmoil. But since we were partied, she still got credit for the kill! And due to the magic of achievements this poor Draenei's death will remain permanently marked in her history!

Vid, I know you were probably pretty shocked, even horrified. You probably didn't know how to react in this situation.
