Sindy DOWN, and some link love

I was going to simply publish a list of some great links that have caught my eye over the past few weeks...but then we went and downed Sindragosa tonight! So clearly I have to deal with this excitement first.

Everything's blue, beige and gray...BESTIAL WRATH!

We actually reached Sindy weeks ago, maybe even 20% buff long ago...but because of the dread Summer Boss, and because we've been gearing up people's alts, we haven't actually sat down for a night of Sindy attempts since our initial first night. Our fresh runs usually cleared 10/12, Sindragosa waiting just teasingly out of reach. And we only raid one night a week. So this night has been a long time coming.

We threw ourselves at her for about two hours, slowly hammering out the Frost Tomb and Mystic Buffet kinks. When she finally went down, there was a lot of overjoyed shouting on vent - the first time I've ever been part of a kill that REALLY felt well-earned. It was pretty great.

Next up...

We headed upstairs and gave Arthas a few tries, mostly to learn how the first few phases work and just how to deal with infest, the crumbling platform, etc. We also got to experience the wonderful joy known as Defile! It was just as bad as I'd heard. I couldn't help but laugh.

Icecrown Citadel has been my first real raid instance that I've seen and experienced from the very start. I'm incredibly excited to be so near to completing it, and being there for the conclusion of what is probably the biggest lore story in Warcraft history. The next few weeks' attempts will be intense!

Now...on to the links!

The awesome Lara has created her own blog, Root and Branch! Her posts are extremely well-written and consistently thought-provoking. Her "Pugging Code of Ethics" is hilarious and so, so accurate. Seriously, it should be required reading for anyone playing the game.

Alas has been sharing some great Guest Posts, by Anea, Zelmaru (whose site is down for a few days, unfortunately), and even a few posts addressing the mysterious DinoTam!

Two interesting outlooks on the Humans this week, one at Barrens Chat looking at the surrealness of their starting zone, and another from Fail PUG! taking a look at the dubious leadership of one King Varian Wrynn. (Warning: the Fail PUG link contains some Cataclysm spoilers.)

Fourth Wall is a fairly new webcomic about gaming and MMOs, and the hilarious balance between evil writer Mitsune's relentless taunting towards artist Aymee, and Aymee's occasional, delicious revenge. The art is great and the strips are always funny, so check them out!

And finally, Vidyala is holding a fantastic contest: Paladin Fashion. The prize is some of her terrific art! Really, what more do you need to know? Full details here. Finally, an outlet for all those crazy (or just fun) clothes that people collect. There's been some terrific paladin tier set designs (the Judgement one with the red/gold hood and book/sword shoulderpads come instantly to mind) but it should be a lot of fun to see what kind of creative outfits people come up with.

Big (rather belated) grats on the Sindy kill! How did you get people to line up so nicely for the screenshot? My guildies are always trying to all stand on top of each other. :P

Thanks for the link. Those awesome guest posters deserve the extra kudos!
