Overthinking things, Royal Apothecary style
Been doing some thinking about the Royal Apothecary Society today due to an interesting discussion over on Anea's blog. I'm a HUGE fan of the RAS's place in WoW, mostly because I find the Forsaken drive for vengeance an intriguing balance between justified revenge and outright evil. Plus Putress rocks.
They're certainly dedicated. From the earliest Vanilla days, they've been toiling and perfecting their secret weapon, their plague that will kill both undead and living creatures. They've tested it on mountaineers, dragons, even their fellow Forsaken. We finally saw the culmination of their efforts in the Wrathgate event, and it unquestionably worked as desired, instantly devastating and killing everything it touched.
However...Apothecaries, really? That's what you spent all those years working on?
You do know a similar weapon already exists, right? Something that destroys everything it touches, whether undead or living?
It's pretty well-known, you may have heard of it over the years.

That's why we don't stand in it, right?

Hahaha.
But Rades! We can't load fire into barrels to launch at people! ...Oh wait, we could launch something flammable that... JUST YOU NEVER MIND.

... this is SO not what I was expecting!
(Maybe fire's the backup plan? The backup plan to the backup plan?)

I am not ashamed to say I laughed, and hard.
But you're forgetting one vital thing; Fire is not green.
Oh wait, warlocks.

@Anea (ethermead) I am still working on the REAL Apothecary Society post, haha. It reminded me of this long overdue peeve!
