Minipost: Cloud Serpent, My Friend (Part 2)

Poor little Cloud Serpent, cast cruelly aside.
So sad is its tale, you might even have cried.
At what price friendship? Well, ask no more.
It's seven hundred fifty gold, not a copper more.

And so the little serpent, by its best friend refused,
Was put up for sale - "One owner, gently used."

It wasn't long before someone paid the price,
But woe! It was a Mogu! By golden scales, enticed!

The Mogu was mean to the poor golden drake,
Chaining it, yelling, giving no fishy cakes.

The mistreated Cloud Serpent, once so lustrous and bright,
Grew sullen and sad, scales turned dark as night.

Countless other drakes drifted by overhead,
Their spirits withdrawn, their colors long fled.

"Fly, beast! Now!" shouted a Mogu, its face a cruel grin.
So the poor serpent took flight, and joined its circling kin.

The once-golden beauty flew all day and all night,
Growing duller inside as it accepted its plight.

It had nearly given up hope, head sunken and bowed
When a familiar figure flew down from the clouds.

Oh little Cloud Serpent, I am oh so ashamed!
Your pain, your suffering, I am fully to blame.
My friends were shocked I'd been so heartless and rash
To actually value you less than a bag full of cash.

How heartless I'd been, to cast aside our bond!
I went back to make amends, but you were already gone!
For days I've been searching, trying to find you,
But Pandaria is large, and I had nary a clue.

I'm sorry I took so long, little gold friend,
You just relax, this nightmare will soon be at end.

The Mogu's dark sorceries have you firmly in hold
But I'll not stop until you're once again gold.

After all, if there's one thing I really do know,
It's how to be bright, to shine, and to glow.

Let's get out of here, friend, leave this foul place behind.
I've got some treats waiting for you back home at the Shrine.

You're safe now, dear serpent, my little gold friend,
And I promise I'll never leave you again.
