Minipost: Rayne must die!

Confession: I have an odd tradition when it comes to making a new death knight. I have to kill Rayne during the Battle for Light's Hope Chapel.

I haven't made that many DKs - Morgion, my dwarf on Moonrunner, a worgen on Azuremyst, and another dwarf now on Medivh - but every time, I make it my mission to find Rayne in that mass melee and strike her down.

Morgion fought the whole battle, of course, since this is when DKs were new and the battle was truly epic, with 20+ other death knights there fighting too, but on all the DKs after I just kill Rayne, then sit around waiting for the fight to end.

I don't even hate her or anything like that. I just feel like she needs to die. I think the first time I did that quest, she caught my attention because unlike almost everyone else, she wasn't wearing armor, but rather bright orange/green/purple robes. Talk about making herself a juicy target!

Also, I noticed her because she was casting Wrath IN CASTER FORM. This was a display of incompetence that HAD TO BE PUNISHED!

And so, every time, I track her down and murder her. Sorry, druids, but she has to die.

Of course, it is but a temporary setback. When Tirion does his rah-rah-we-win appearance and saves the day, she miraculously comes back to life and is standing there with the rest of the Light's Hope NPCs.

Alive again...for now.

I guess she figured that a big moonkin wouldn't be any harder to spot! Poor druid. I guess if she's evil it's ok, but...druid! Augh, torn.

Going for the soft targets, huh? :D Both times I've done that battle Rayne has gone down before the end regardless.

Personally I go for lord whatsisface that stands around spamming Holy Lights on everything in sight. Can't abide healers.

Say Rades, did you ever go through the Wintergarde Keep questlines for the Alliance? If not, do it. The main questline there is worth doing, because there's a little twist surrounding the old Light's Hope Chapel crew that you'll like.

(Or not. DM's can be fickle like that.)

Ha! I've started going after that Maxwell guy ever since he one-shot punched out a Draenei DK I made. Racist jerk punched out any toon I made that wasn't human. Now he doesn't anymore (Blizz must have fixed this in 4.3), but I still like to at least try and kill him for the sake of my other DKs he murdered.
