One of the sad running jokes in TTGF is that in all of our boss kill screenshots (which one of my addons takes automatically upon boss death), the only constant is the slowly-rising "That's A Lot of Bait" counter in the upper-right corner.

Yeah, 3/8 Heroic DS, been raiding all expansion and we still don't have the fish feasts. We're not really big into fishing, it seems.


In a way, it's actually kind of funny, since the fish tracker serves as a bit of a timeline. How many did we have when we downed Deathwing? How many when we killed Heroic Morchok? Etc.

Well, about a week or so ago, I decided to once again try my hand at fishing up Mr. Pinchy. I'd really wanted the Salty title on Rades for ages, and I won the very first fishing contest I ever tried, back in Burning Crusade or early Wrath, so I'd been putting this off for too long. (Plus I really wanted those damn feasts.)


By the time I got the Magical Crawdad Box (got Mr. Pinchy on the second try), we were only short a few thousand fish. It was within reach! So Rades spent a week up in Howling Fjord, fishing up hundreds of stupid Fangtooth Herrings and Pygmy Suckerfish, racking up that fish counter and trying for a Dark Herring.


By the weekend, we were finally below 1000 fish, and after sharing something really cool on Twitter, I casually mentioned how close we were to feasts. I was blown away when a bunch of people jumped up and said they'd come help fish up the last batch! It was very unexpected and not at all what I had intended, but man, was it appreciated. It didn't take long before the magic 10,000 number had been reached!



So than you Poneria, Apple Cider, Lizzia, Rezznul and Jed! You made that last ~900 fish go by super fast, and now, tonight, FINALLY, we will FEAST ON THE FRUITS OF YOUR EFFORTS. (Screwlewse, Buglamp, Liala and Aldous were also online/fishing, but they don't count because TTGF is already their primary guild. Also because Buglamp is a butt.)
