Minipost: You'd better get used to it, jerkyloins.

Of all the zones that got revamped for Cataclysm, the one that probably got the biggest facelift was Azshara. Formerly mind-numbingly empty and devoid of content, Azshara now features a great selection of newbie quests meant to teach new players about the game mechanics, a ton of (often Goblin-related) humor, and a surprisingly amount of interesting lore. It's a shame the zone is Horde-only, as there are quite a few quests that examine ancient, pre-Sundering Night Elf history. It's unfortunate that many Alliance players who adore the Night Elves and would love to experience these glimpses into the past will never see them.

The zone is also full of hilarious moments. One of my favorites was The Blackmaw Doublecross, where you disguise yourself as a Night Elf to sabotage a tentative alliance between the Night Elves (and thus, the Alliance) and the unaligned Blackmaw Furbolg tribe.

YOU TAKE THAT BACK, CUR!

From a military standpoint, the quest was cunning and straightforward - stop the Furbolgs from befriending the hated Night Elves! But when I saw HOW we sabotage the negotiations, I couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Who says war can't be fun! I think my favorite line is: You keep talking, but all I hear is "Blah blah my people bathe in their own filth." So awesome. FOR THE HORDE!

Considering you get to --as Alliance-- start an uprising among the Furbolg in Ashenvale, I see this as turnabout is fair play.

Heehee! I really enjoyed the Highborne-related quests in new Azshara. It makes me sad that the robe worn by the NE ambassadors that you get disguised as is now only obtainable by Horde players. I think my NE Mage is going to have to have a faction-changing... accident at some point so that she can acquire one.

    Freakin' Hordies.

Don't think your effeminate, handsome features will save you from Rhese's wrath when he sees how you've pissed off his furbolg buddies. >_<

@Rhoelyn - You mean how YOU'VE pissed off his furbolg buddies! You Night Elves, so mean and insulting and disrespectful! ;)

@ironyca - I do feel a little sorry for Ungarl, but the conversation was too funny for my sympathy to surface amidst my wild amusement. :D
